The sun is starting to shine, birds are chirping, and much of the snow has melted; it must be spring! At 12:57 pm, today, is the vernal equinox, otherwise known as the first day of spring. And that, my friends, is reason to rejoice. I intend on standing outside just before 1 pm with my arms spread and my head lifted up to the heavens to welcome the new season. I’ll ask spring to be gentle with us for winter was not so kind. Maybe if we all do it at the same time…………you never know.
More good news: The response to our presentation at the farm meeting has been great and continues to grow. Each day brings in new CSA members. Thanks to all those who attended and spread the word.
If you were unable to attend the farm meeting, we have a presentation at the Middle Valley Community Center on Tuesday, the 25th:
Your Table in the Valley Series: Food is Medicine
Tuesday March 25, 2014 at 7:30 pm
Middle Valley Community Center
359 West Mill Road, Long Valley NY 07853
Open to the public & admission is free
Once again, Dr. Weiss will talk about how food can lead us to better health. His presentation will discuss how plant-based whole foods are the most powerful disease modifying tools available to the medical practitioner, often more effective than drug-based medicine. In this evidence-based presentation, participants will learn how chronic illness is prevented and reversed using these foods. After his presentation I will be talking about the farm and the details of the CSA. We’ll answer any questions you have. Applications will be also be available for CSA membership.
I hope you can join us.
